Strong Defense Representation For DUI Charges

If you were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, you are probably wondering what you can do to get your life back on track. People who are arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) generally know they made a mistake. They are not interested in going to trial to fight the charges; they want to know what they can do to get their life back to where it was before the arrest. They are embarrassed about the pending case and are worried about how long they will be unable to drive.

At Sullivan Law, PC, I defend clients in St. Clair County and throughout the St. Louis metro area of Illinois who face drunk driving charges. Whether you this is your first DUI offense, or a repeat DUI charge facing a felony DUI accusation, I can help protect your driving privileges.

Am I Eligible To Receive A BAIID?

A breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) is a machine installed in vehicles that requires a breath test before the engine will start. If the machine detects alcohol on your breath, the engine will not start.

Because people who are arrested and charged with their first DUIs will have their licenses suspended, a BAIID is one option to get them back on the road. Not everyone is eligible to receive a BAIID, and there are restrictions. If you appear eligible, I can help you complete and file the necessary paperwork to obtain a BAIID. Under certain circumstances, it is possible to get your license back without a BAIID.

Protection For Repeat DUI Offenders

In Illinois, people who are convicted of more than one DUI risk losing their driving privileges. If your license is revoked, you might get back your right to apply for your license, but that does not automatically mean you will get your license back.

In some situations, repeat offenders do not get their licenses back. When clients contact my firm, I give them an honest assessment of their chances of driving again. Although no one wants to know they cannot get their license back, learning this early allows clients to make arrangements in moving forward with their lives.
